On November 12th, 2015, the first Focus Work Boot Camp in Tromsø will take place. Here are the necessary preparations you have to do in advance.
First of all: This will be a boot camp where it is not possible to turn off the access to the internet. Instead we will use internet blocking software and buddy check to make sure we’ll get the focus we need. Make sure you install the internet blocking software before you come to the camp!
Second: Remember to sign up officially via this link. This in the only signing up that counts!
Third: Pick your projects for the day! You will be working on your own projects for 2 whole sessions of 3 hours each. Use this opportunity to work on your long term goals! Maybe you should really try to write a long text? Or maybe you have a book you have wanted to read for a long time, but you just have not find the time? Or maybe you have been procrastinating a task for a long time, and it’s about time to eat that frog? The process of finding suitable tasks for 2 x 3 hours of focus work will in itself raise your awareness about what really is your important tasks.
Four: Chances are that you will underestimate the amount of work you will get done in a day like this. Therefore, remember to bring some bonus reading to fill in – in case you get the time. Bring a novel or another book, or just some magazines.
Five: Do not bring lunch. You will get that at the boot camp.
See you there!
